Position Summary

As an Office Engineer, you will provide administrative, technical, and project management support from an office setting, bridging the gap between the field and the office. They manage project documentation, assist with scheduling, ensure compliance with specifications, and may also be involved in aspects of project planning, procurement, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain organized and detailed construction files, project records and logs.
  • Oversee and review daily field inspector reports.
  • Track, document and manage project issues and conditions, including the management of the construction Request For Information (RFI) and submittal process.
  • Prepare, process, and track contract change orders, documenting scope changes, costs, and schedule impacts.
  • Assist in maintaining project schedules, update milestones, collect field progress data, and prepare lookahead schedules.
  • Provide and coordinate technical and administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management or related field
  • 5-10 years full-time professional experience in similar roles
  • Licensure or Certification preferred:
    Licensed Engineer (preferably in California by Board of Engineers) and/or Certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, etc., and/or any other relevant certification or license
  • Strong communication skills and able to work quickly, efficiently and confidently
  • Exhibits high work standards, self-motivation, ethical work practices and collaborative spirit
  • Proficiency in computer programs and project management software (MS Word, MS Excel, Bluebeam, Adobe, etc.)
