Mechanical Test Engineer - Aerospace San Diego

The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background with experience supporting testing, aerospace/aircraft systems, fixtures, and technical documentation.

• Provide mechanical engineering support for aircraft environmental testing activities.
• Design and develop test fixtures and associated mechanical hardware required for environmental testing.
• Support the setup, execution, and troubleshooting of aircraft and component-level tests.
• Develop clear and detailed test procedures based on engineering requirements and test objectives.
• Prepare comprehensive test reports documenting test setup, methodology, results, observations, and conclusions.
• Collaborate with engineering and testing teams to identify and resolve mechanical or test-related issues.
• Review test requirements and ensure fixtures and test setups meet applicable engineering specifications.
• Assist with modifications and improvements to test fixtures and procedures as testing progresses.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation throughout the testing process.
• Support other mechanical engineering activities related to aircraft testing and development as needed.

• Experience with mechanical testing, test fixtures, or engineering test environments.
• Ability to develop and document test procedures and test reports.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and engineering documentation.
• Experience working with CAD/design tools for developing mechanical fixtures is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Experience with aircraft or aerospace testing.
• Experience with environmental testing of aircraft, aerospace components, or other complex mechanical systems.
• Experience designing, fabricating, or modifying test fixtures.
• Familiarity with aerospace engineering standards and testing practices.
• Experience supporting hands-on test activities in a laboratory, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
