Water & Wastewater Engineering Project Manager

As a Project Manager, you'll lead the planning, design, and delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects that support communities throughout California. Working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders, you'll oversee projects from initial planning through design and construction while driving technical excellence, client satisfaction, and financial performance.

In this role, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to clients, building and strengthening long-term relationships while helping guide infrastructure investments and project priorities. You'll balance project execution, team leadership, business development, and operational performance to successfully deliver projects on schedule and within budget.

$160,000 - $180,000+ DOE. Compensation for candidates with significant experience beyond the minimum requirements may be considered above this range.

Candidates must reside in California and hold an active California PE license. Consor offers flexible work arrangements, including remote, hybrid, and in-office options from our California locations in Rancho Cordova, Walnut Creek, Oakland, Santa Clara, Los Angeles, and San Diego.

• Drive project execution strategies, proactively identifying risks, resolving challenges, and implementing solutions to keep projects on track and within scope.
• Develop and monitor detailed project work plans, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure efficient use of time and financial performance.
• Lead client presentations, workshops, and stakeholder meetings, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, permitting requirements, and industry standards throughout all project phases.
• Oversee contract management activities, including scope development, negotiations, change orders, and documentation.
• Champion continuous improvement by implementing best practices, innovative technologies, and process enhancements across projects.
• Partner with business development teams to identify new opportunities, contribute to proposals, and support project pursuits and interviews.
• Monitor project financials, including forecasting, invoicing, and profitability analysis, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, environmental, planning, and construction teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Act as a strategic advisor to clients, providing guidance on long-term infrastructure planning, capital improvement programs, and system optimization.

• Experience managing the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience building and maintaining client relationships and supporting business development efforts.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
• Active California Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred but not required.

This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
