We are looking for civil engineering experts to help train and evaluate AI models. You will create realistic problems with reference answers, write grading rubrics, and compare model responses for technical correctness. Your professional judgment sets the standard that AI systems are measured against.

• Design realistic civil engineering problems with complete reference answers.
• Write grading rubrics that separate professional engineering judgment from textbook recall.
• Evaluate AI-generated calculations, designs and specifications head-to-head and explain which is better and why.
• Review problems and answers across areas such as structural analysis, geotechnical engineering, transportation, water resources and construction.
• Check answers against relevant standards and codes where applicable.
• Document errors in model reasoning and propose improved responses.
• Follow project guidelines, take part in calibration and review sessions, and incorporate feedback to keep quality consistent.

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, plus a Master’s/PhD or 4+ years of professional experience.
• Solid design or analysis experience in your discipline.
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of relevant design codes and standards.
• Excellent written English.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote setting.

• Professional engineer (PE) or chartered status.
• Experience with structural or GIS software.
• Experience writing technical reports or training material.

Engagement and payment are subject to successful verification and to applicable sanctions, export-control, tax and employment laws. The contractor agreement will set out ownership and licence terms for the work you deliver (to be confirmed by Rex Legal).

USD $70–115 per hour, adjusted by country of residence.
