Position: Event Operations Staff | Part-Time | Snapdragon Stadium

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Operations Management, the Event Operations Staff will execute the set-up and tear down of events, assist with inventory and provide general maintenance, as necessary. The position will be part-time, hourly and should be available to work days and nights, including weekends and holidays.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $18.00-$20.00

About The Venue

Snapdragon Stadium is a 35,000-seat, multipurpose venue owned by San Diego State University and managed by Oak View Group. Located within SDSU Mission Valley, the stadium serves as a year-round entertainment destination and a hub for community engagement. Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, sustainability is a top operational priority. Snapdragon Stadium is home to SDSU Aztec Football, San Diego Wave FC of the National Women’s Soccer League, and San Diego FC, and hosts a wide range of concerts, festivals, international sporting events, championships, dirt shows, and community events.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the setup, execution, and breakdown of stadium events, including sporting events, concerts, festivals, and community programs
  • Perform event conversions, which may including field and floor protection, seating, barricades, signage, and equipment placement
  • Support load-in and load-out operations for clients, vendors, and production teams
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of event spaces, back-of-house areas, and public areas during events
  • Conduct pre-event, in-event, and post-event inspections to ensure spaces meet operational and safety standards
  • Assist with crowd flow management and operational support as directed by Event Operations leadership
  • Operate basic event equipment and tools in accordance with training and safety guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments to ensure smooth event execution
  • Respond to operational issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Adhere to all stadium policies, safety procedures, and sustainability practices
  • Work safely and efficiently during varying weather, time of day/night and using a variety of equipment
  • Ability to successfully troubleshoot unplanned challenges
  • Frequent bending, carrying, moving, climbing, working from various heights, lifting 15-50 pounds, sitting, exposure to moderate to loud noises, extensive walking through the building
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent is required.
  • Familiar with operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology and event-related services.
  • Basic math skills to provide accurate inventory tracking and event set-ups.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines or other equipment is preferred.
  • Valid Class C license is required.
  • Follow explicit oral and written instructions; communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative.
  • The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work, nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Effectively work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor among clients, talent and guests, demonstrating a high level of customer and client service.
