Location: La Jolla Shores Hotel, La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, San Diego, CA

Hourly Rate: $19.75

Responsible for first impressions and ongoing guest service, creating a welcoming environment, assisting guests with directions, managing security and communication, and maintaining accurate shift reports.

• Provide quality service that meets or exceeds expectations while maintaining a polite, friendly, professional demeanor.
• Assist guests with directions and instructions to area and regional visitor attractions.
• Communicate with other department staff and officers via radio, voicemail, pagers, and two‑way radio.
• Use ten codes to communicate via radio to other security officers and staff.
• Attend regularly scheduled department meetings.
• Record data such as unusual occurrences.
• Refer complaints of service failures to designated departments for investigation and follow up.
• Maintain accurate shift closing reports and procedures.
• Follow up on all outstanding guest assistance requests.
• Maintain knowledge of current room types, rate structures, and features.
• Be familiar with all facilities, hours of operation, and local events.
• Coordinate packages with vendors and guests.
• Maintain close and professional relationships with all departments.
• Complete reasonable requests from a manager.
• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and other reports.
• Treat all guests and employees with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
• Drive a company vehicle and maintain a valid California Driver’s License.

• Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple correspondence; excellent verbal communication in English.
• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Common sense reasoning to carry out written or oral instructions and solve simple problems.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 100 lbs occasionally; able to perform required physical tasks.
