The San Diego Symphony is seeking candidates for the Section Violin position, with auditions scheduled for November 7-9, 2026. A complete repertoire list will be provided soon. Candidates are encouraged to apply early, especially if they plan to audition for the LA Philharmonic, as both orchestras are coordinating schedules to accommodate musicians who advance in both auditions. Employment is expected to begin no later than January 2027, with a contract duration of 42 weeks, including 37 playing weeks and 5 vacation weeks.
The minimum annual salary is $112,965, along with a $3,000 Electronic Media Guarantee. Benefits include medical and dental insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, instrument insurance, and a pension plan contribution.
