Primary Purpose

Builds and refines financial models, performs detailed variance analysis, and delivers actionable insights to improve forecasting accuracy and resource allocation.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops detailed financial forecasts and models to support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Conducts variance analysis and recommends corrective actions to improve performance.
  • Evaluates operational effectiveness and identifies cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Prepares management reports summarizing financial and market trends.
  • Leads small to medium projects related to budgeting or financial analysis with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to align financial plans with business objectives.
  • Provides guidance to less experienced staff on financial processes and tools.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and internal financial standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Typically requires a 4‑year degree in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Typically requires 5 years of related experience.

Skills and Abilities
  • Financial Planning – Ability to analyze and evaluate financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to ensure effective resource allocation and support long‑term organizational objectives.
  • Financial Analysis – Analyzes the financial statements and data to provide insights about the financial performance and position of the organization over time.
  • Financial Regulatory Reporting – Uses financial statements to disclose a company’s financial information and performance on an annual or quarterly basis.
  • Financial Modeling – Designs mathematical models and analyzes data to estimate financial performance and value, projecting future scenarios and measuring variance between projections and actual performance.
  • Financial Research – Gathers, analyzes and interprets financial data, information and trends to gain insights and make informed decisions regarding investments, financial strategies, risk management, and other financial activities.
  • Financial Budgeting – Creates and manages a budget, analyzes financial data, makes informed decisions about resource allocation, and tracks expenses to ensure financial stability and growth.
  • Financial Forecasting – Estimates future financial outcomes for a company or project, typically applied in budgeting, capital budgeting and/or valuation.
  • Variance Analysis – Analyzes the difference between actuals and a predetermined measure such as a budget, plan or rolling forecast.
  • Regulatory Compliance – Ensures an organization’s adherence to laws, regulations, guidelines and specifications relevant to its business processes.
  • Business Process Improvement – Analyzes business processes and workflows within the organization and identifies new approaches to redesign business activities or optimize performance, quality and speed.
