Senior Accountant

We are looking for hands‑on self‑starter in our San Diego headquarters. This is a full‑time, exempt, on‑site position. The position will report to the Controller.

• Financial Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow). Lead the month‑end closing procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of accounting data by verifying, allocating, and posting journal entries. Perform bank and account reconciliations.
• Cost Accounting: Familiarity with cost accounting – calculating margins, excess and obsolete inventory and monthly inventory count management.
• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary work papers and schedules. Ensure adherence to internal controls and legal regulations.
• Taxation: Prepare sales and use tax calculations and filings. Coordinate with external tax team to prepare work papers for federal and state tax filings.
• Payroll: Process bi‑weekly payroll with ADP software as needed.
• Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor accountants and accounting assistants. Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Production, and Engineering, to meet manufacturing schedules and support cost control initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting preferred. Experience working in a public company preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros). Hands‑on experience with large ERP accounting software, preferred Net Suite.
