Senior Accountant

Beam Global, , is a clean technology innovator which develops and manufactures sustainable infrastructure products and technologies for electric vehicle (EV) charging, energy storage, energy security and outdoor media. The EV ARC is a solar-powered EV charging station that stores energy from sunshine for charging day or night and provides EV charging and emergency power during grid failures. It requires no trenching, no foundations or no installation work of any kind, is deployed in minutes and can be moved to a new location with ease.

Products are invented and manufactured in San Diego, CA, Chicago, IL, Belgrade and Kraljevo, Serbia and has an office in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The Company is listed on Nasdaq under the symbol BEEM.

We are looking for hands-on self-starter in our San Diego headquarters. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position. The position will report to the Controller.

Core Responsibilities

* Financial Reporting & Analysis:
Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements (balance sheets, P&L, cash flow). Lead the month-end closing procedures, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Analyze variances between actual results and budgets/forecasts.

* General Ledger Management:
Maintain the integrity of accounting data by verifying, allocating, and posting journal entries. Perform bank and account reconciliations.

* Cost Accounting:
Familiarity with cost accounting - calculating margins, excess and obsolete inventory and monthly inventory count management.

* Audit & Compliance:
Coordinate with external auditors and prepare necessary work papers and schedules. Ensure adherence to internal controls and legal regulations.

* Taxation:
Prepare sales and use tax calculations and filings. Coordinate with external tax team to prepare work papers for federal and state tax filings.

* Payroll:
Process bi-weekly payroll with ADP software as needed.

* Leadership:
Supervise, train, and mentor accountants and accounting assistants. Collaborate with other departments, such as Sales, Production, and Engineering, to meet manufacturing schedules and support cost control initiatives.

* Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

* Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

* Experience:

2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. Experience in a manufacturing environment with cost accounting preferred. Experience working in a public company preferred.

* Technical Proficiency:
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, macros). Hands-on experience with large ERP accounting software, preferred Net Suite.
