Our client is a specialist economic consulting firm currently recruiting a Senior Economist to support and lead complex advisory and litigation engagements. The firm operates at the intersection of economics, law, and business, advising high-profile legal and corporate clients on matters involving valuation, damages, and applied economic analysis. RoleThe Senior Economist will play a central role in delivering economic consulting projects within a litigation and disputes context. This is a senior-level position suited to an economist with a proven track record of managing complex engagements, developing robust economic and valuation analyses, and acting as a trusted advisor to clients, experts, and internal teams. The role offers a high degree of autonomy and the opportunity to shape both project outcomes and the broader intellectual direction of the firm.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development of economic approaches to complex litigation and advisory matters
- Design, build, and review sophisticated economic, financial, valuation, and econometric models
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients and experts throughout the lifecycle of engagements
- Take ownership of reports and analytical work products, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and robustness
- Guide and mentor analysts and consultants, setting high standards for analytical quality
- Provide intellectual leadership within project teams and contribute to firm-wide initiatives
- Support the development of research, publications, and internal thought leadership where appropriate
- PhD in Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting
- Proven post-graduate experience in economic consulting
- Proven experience managing complex projects and multiple work streams
- Advanced quantitative, modelling, and analytical capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members and lead by example
- Excellent analytical reasoning, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Exposure to high-stakes, intellectually challenging cases with leading clients
- Senior-level responsibility and autonomy
- Strong emphasis on mentorship, professional development, and long-term career progression
