Position: Funder (Single Family Residential Mortgage)
Axos Bank Target Range:$20.00/Hr.

- $27.00/Hr.Actual starting pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.

Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Cash Bonus Target: 10%
Eligible for an Annual Discretionary Restricted Stock Units Bonus Target: 10%
These discretionary target bonuses may be awarded semi-annually based upon your achievement of performance goals and targets.

About This Job The Funder is responsible for reviewing and funding closing documents for moderate to complex loan transactions. This role requires a strong understanding of current investor requirements and TRID (TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure) regulations to ensure compliance and accuracy throughout the closing process. The Funder performs a cross-functional role, supporting multiple aspects of loan closing operations based on daily pipeline needs.

Success in this position requires comprehensive knowledge of mortgage closing processes, strong organizational and math skills, computer literacy, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while managing multiple loans simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

Review loan files and closing packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with investor and regulatory guidelines

Generate and issue Closing Disclosures (CDs) in accordance with TRID requirements

Draw and prepare loan documents in alignment with investor specifications

Coordinate with internal teams such as underwriting, processing, closing, and post-closing to resolve conditions and ensure timely funding/purchasing

Identify and address discrepancies or documentation issues prior to funding

Maintain a high level of accuracy and adherence to timelines in a fast-paced environment

Post journal entries and board loans to servicing platform

Qualifications:

HS Diploma required1+ year of experience within Mortgage Experience in the closing department of a lender

Must have in-depth knowledge of RESPA and TRID guidelines

Capable of drawing closing documents through a third-party software (i.e. Doc Magic)
Must have the ability to handle multiple priorities and produce results

Superb verbal and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills

Excellent customer service and organizational skills

Attention to detail is a must, along with a keen eye for identifying problems

Ability to work in a team environment

Strong math skills and computer literacy

Ability to work under pressure, multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Willingness to perform multiple functions throughout the day as the need arises

Knowledge of investor guidelines and suspense clearance for loan purchase
