Role Description

The Financial Analyst at Sushi Grade Media will support financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities to help guide strategic decision-making in a fast-paced media production environment. This part-time remote role will involve preparing, reviewing, and interpreting financial statements, monitoring budgets, and analyzing project costs and profitability across multiple content formats. The analyst will assist in forecasting revenues and expenses, developing financial models, tracking key performance indicators, and identifying trends or risks that could impact operations.

Day-to-day tasks will include collaborating with production and leadership teams, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end reporting, and recommending process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and transparency.

Qualifications
  • Strong finance and financial planning skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in working with financial statements and a solid understanding of core finance concepts.
  • Experience with financial reporting, including preparing and presenting reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Comfort with remote collaboration tools and the ability to work independently in a distributed team.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and financial software (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets; exposure to accounting or BI tools is a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience in media, entertainment, or project-based environments is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory workplace practices.
