Senior Tax Associate

An independent RIA headquartered in La Jolla, CA, specializes in helping high-net-worth individuals and families manage and preserve wealth through investment management, wealth planning, and tax preparation. They are seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join their team and handle compliance and planning for HNW families, businesses, and trusts.

• Prepare and review 1040, 1065, 1120-S, and 1041 returns for HNW individuals, families, and related entities
• Support trust and estate compliance and planning, including fiduciary returns, gift tax (709), and estate tax (706) as needed
• Handle quarterly estimates, extensions, and tax projections
• Work with advisors on wealth transfer, gifting, and tax-efficient planning strategies
• Respond to IRS and state notices
• Help onboard newly acquired client relationships
• Use and help refine the firm's new AI-driven tax prep workflow (juno.tax)
• Review and mentor junior staff

• 2-6 years of tax experience in public accounting, a family office, or wealth management
• HNW individual and pass-through experience required; trust and estate experience strongly preferred
• CPA or EA, or actively pursuing one, preferred
• Experience with AI tax prep tools a major plus
• Proficiency in CCH Axcess or similar tax software; strong Excel skills
• San Diego-area based, or willing to be, with at least 2 days a week in office (more during busy season)

Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 + Bonus
