Director, Government Affairs - Government Affairs

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Government Affairs is responsible for:

- Maintaining active awareness of legislative issues, including proposed legislation and public policies that may impact Rady Children's Hospital San Diego, and developing and coordinating strategies to address them.

- Working closely with the Vice President of Government Affairs to implement strategies that enhance Rady Children's local advocacy agenda, including designing legislative proposals that support priority initiatives.

- Working with internal and external stakeholders to influence policies, practices and resources that align with community benefit initiatives.

- Collaborating with subject matter experts to inform positions and influence policy.

- Executing special projects as assigned by the Chief External Affairs Officer/Executive Director, Vice President and Chief Advocacy & Public Policy Officer, and/or Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

5 Years of Experience

Knowledgeable how government entities function and experience in the healthcare industry

Works efficiently under pressure; meets deadlines; demonstrates strategic thinking and good decision-making, as well as an entrepreneurial spirit

Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

Strong conflict resolution skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree

7 Years of Experience
