The San Diego Unified School District seeks a Police Dispatcher to receive, evaluate, and act upon emergency and non‑emergency telephone and radio calls; dispatch and monitor appropriate personnel; monitor safety equipment; and maintain logs using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.

School Police Services, 4100 Normal Street, San Diego, CA 92103 - Work Schedule: 12 months per year, 40 hours per week
- Salary: Grade 022, POA Salary Schedule ($32.37–$43.38 per hour)
- Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District‑paid health and wellness benefits.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) positions qualify for a 5% differential; candidate will be invited to a qualifying performance test.
- Three years of customer service experience in a demanding, fast‑paced environment requiring multitasking and independent judgment, OR a combination of training and experience equivalent to successful completion of the P.O.S.T. Certified Dispatcher Basic Academy.
- Recent paid civilian or military radio dispatching, public emergency information systems, or law enforcement experience is highly desirable.
- Pass a P.O.S.T. Certified Dispatcher Basic Academy within one year of employment.
- Complete the Communications Training Officer (CTO) program within 636 hours after beginning training.
- Typing/keyboarding certificate at a net, corrected speed of at least 30 words per minute.
- Pass a computerized skills assessment test.
- Clear background, polygraph, credit, chemical, medical, and psychological testing.
