Inpatient Staff Pharmacist I/II – La Jolla. This position is a part-time appointment. This position will remain open until filled.

• Integrate into the clinical, teaching, research and distribution system for UC San Diego Health and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
• Profile review, TPN order writing, Pharmacokinetics, renal drug dosing, medication reconciliation, and chemotherapy order review/validation in Beacon Chemotherapy Electronic Medical Record.
• Precept pharmacy students from the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and precept UC San Diego Health PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Residents.
• Provide investigational drug support and other activities that optimize outcomes of drug therapy.
• Under general supervision, provide and document medications and medication-related services to patients according to Department of Pharmacy standards.
• Serve as preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned; participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy.

• Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience (acute care pharmacy experience in an hospital setting).
• Registered Pharmacist – issued by the state of California (RPH).
• Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience: 3 years of inpatient pharmacist experience.

Depending on experience, the position will be hired at Staff Pharmacy I (less than four years) or Staff Pharmacy II (four years or more).

• Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center’s business needs.
• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay Transparency Act:
Annual Full Pay Range: $181,322 - $184,976 (prorated if appointment < 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $86.84 - $88.59. Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business needs.
