ResponsibilitiesUnder the general supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, the Outpatient Pharmacy Technician II / III performs a full range of duties in a retail pharmacy setting. Responsibilities include preparing medications for patient use according to established procedures, assisting with distribution (including the Med‑2‑Bed program), performing computer order entry, record keeping, billing functions, maintaining inventory levels, and other duties as assigned. The technician will also assist pharmacists in completing medication orders and related distribution duties across various pharmacy areas.
Minimum Qualifications- Certified Pharmacy Technician required for Pharmacy Technician III.
- Pharmacy Technician License issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy required for both levels.
- Minimum of two (2) years of retail experience for Pharmacy Technician II.
- Minimum of five (5) years of retail experience for Pharmacy Technician III.
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacy terminology and calculations.
- Proficient computer experience and accurate data entry skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience with Meds To Beds Program or equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of experience with medication ordering and inventory management.
- 340b regulatory knowledge and background.
- Comfortable with public speaking and able to promote a justifiable position.
- Flexible to address any pharmacy need that may arise, especially those that are unexpected or sudden.
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
- Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Annual Full Pay Range: $54,998 – $68,403 (prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $26.34 – $32.76.
