Job SummaryWe are seeking a Direct Support Facilitator to provide exceptional services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them thrive where they live, work, learn, and play. This role empowers clients to make choices that bring happiness and fulfillment to their lives while fostering independence and community inclusion.
Responsibilities- Photocopying and maintaining inventory of forms, packets, supplies, including safety supplies such as PPE.
- Ensuring location safety compliance by acting as local Safety Officer and as a member of the Adjoin Safety Committee.
- Track and facilitate required safety training and certification such as First Aid/CPR.
- Complete safety orientation training for new hires.
- Plan, execute, and track safety drills.
- Maintain and update safety documents and required postings.
- Facilitating the client’s inclusion in positive community experiences.
- Maintaining positive communications and relationships with supervisor, clients, landlords, employers, families, Regional Center, D.O.R., and other community members.
- Managing and assisting with documentation by scanning, uploading, organizing, and filing as needed.
- Maintaining and managing petty cash and tracking purchases and receipts.
- Managing all safety matters in the office, including fire extinguishers, first aid kits, and safety supplies.
- Planning, conducting, and ensuring staff attendance at monthly safety meetings.
- Implementing individual training and support programs under the direction of the case responsible person.
- Addressing challenging behaviors proactively and respectfully, using methods outlined in plans and training.
- Assisting with pre‑hire and onboarding processes for new hires as needed.
- Promoting independence in daily activities while being mindful of each client’s intellectual and physical disabilities.
- Assisting with meals, cooking, household maintenance, grooming, and dressing as assigned.
- Overseeing client activities and environment throughout the shift to ensure fulfillment of health and safety needs.
- Transporting clients to appointments, community activities, or other locations as needed, ensuring safety and timeliness.
- Advancing client’s decision‑making, productivity, and participation in a range of daily activities.
- Participating in the evaluation of the client through completion of task analysis and other requested assessment devices.
- Participating in Quality Assurance activities per company schedule as assigned.
- Overseeing the maintenance of all office equipment, ensuring the office space is well maintained, orderly, and professional, and maintaining inventory of office supplies, equipment, and furniture.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Successful completion of pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
- Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current CA driver’s license.
- Physical evaluations may be required depending on specific duties; may include TB test and/or lift and transfer test.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Strong confidentiality, organizational skills, and good interpersonal skills.
- Certification in an approved First Aid and CPR class; or successful completion within 45 days of the date of hire.
Schedule may be part or full time depending on client needs and Adjoin. Overtime may be required, but no holiday or overtime may be worked without prior approval of the supervisor.
Must be able to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided at least 75% of the time.
