Compensation: $17.75 - $19.00 per hour
A Direct Support Professional works as scheduled by the Regional Manager and/or his/her designee. Overtime may be required as dictated by operational needs; however, no holiday or overtime may be worked without the prior approval of the Direct Support Professional's supervisor.
Responsibilities- Facilitate the client’s inclusion in positive community experiences. Transport clients to appointments, community activities, or other locations as needed, ensuring safety and timeliness during travel.
- Maintain current knowledge of client’s needs. Maintain positive communications and relationships with supervisor, clients, landlords, employers, family members, Regional Center, D.O.R., and other individuals in the community.
- Participate in the evaluation of the client through completion of task analysis and other requested assessment devices.
- Implement individual training and support programs under the direction of the case responsible person.
- Document required activity records, reports, incidents, and client evaluations in a timely, complete, and accurate manner as required.
- Promote independence in daily activities while being mindful of client’s intellectual and physical disabilities. Assist with meals, cooking, household maintenance, grooming, and dressing as assigned.
- Address challenging behaviors proactively and respectfully using methods outlined in plans and training.
- Oversee client activities and environment throughout the shift to ensure the fulfillment of health and safety needs. Provide direct service as needed and required.
- Experience: 18 years of age or older. Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- License: Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current CA driver’s license.
- Scheduling: Part or full time, depending on the needs of the clients and Adjoin.
- Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Compliance: Physical evaluations may be required depending upon specific assigned duties or compliance requirements and may include a TB test and/or a lift and transfer test.
- Skills: Aptitude for confidentiality, organizational skills, and good interpersonal skills.
- Mobile: The position requires a mobile smart device available to perform certain essential functions, for which reasonable reimbursement is provided.
- Travel: Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a minimum of 75% of the time.
- Certification: Certification in an approved First-Aid and CPR class within 45 days of the date of hire.
