Description

Kona Kai San Diego Resort is a boutique urban resort located on Shelter Island. With 170 guestrooms, Kona Kai Resort is home to Vessel Restaurant + Bar, Spa Terre, a marina and a private club, all located just minutes from downtown San Diego. We are excited to welcome a new Spa Coordinator to our island-inspired resort. Someone who wants to be part of the Kona Kai culture, to stay a while and serve with a purpose.

THE JOB

We are looking for positive, hard-working, self-motivated individuals to join our fantastic team and assist us in making things better. This person will primarily be working the Spa desk, but on occasion work the recreation department as support within the recreation department.

As a Spa Coordinator, you are the first face of our Spa Terra and assist with our Fitness Center as an occasional Club Attendant. You will greet our guests for their memorable experience, manage the flow of the shift, take reservations, maintain cleanliness and more. Your friendly smile will make all the difference in the guest’s first impression on their way to get pampered.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bonus: additional education or certification in hospitality, spa management, or related field preferred.
• Prior experience in customer service, administrative support, or hospitality industry, preferably in a spa or wellness environment.
• Maintain a warm, friendly & Sparkle demeanor at all times.
• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Fluency in English. Second language is a plus.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft (Teams, Outlook, Google etc.)
• Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and multitasking capabilities.
• Ability to lift 15-20 lbs.
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Any candidate that is CPR/First Aid Certified goes to the front of the line!

Scheduling

• Must be available to work weekends and flexible work hours.
• 8 Hour shifts.
• Full time.
• including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by spa operations.
