Job Summary:

The Benefits Administrator is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, voluntary coverages, 401(k) plan, and workers compensation.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Assists with scheduling new-hire benefit orientations.
  • Processes benefit-related invoices including allocation of charges.
  • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials.
  • Assists with benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
  • Assists in administration of leave-of-absence requests and accommodation requests.
  • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
  • Manages 401(k) contribution changes in HRIS.
  • Assists with the open enrollment process.
  • Opens workers compensation claims and sends related information to team member.
  • Other projects as required.

Requirements and Skills

The Benefits Administrator is often the first point of contact for team members regarding benefits-related matters and plays a crucial role in maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. Adaptability, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are key attributes for success in this role.

  • Detail Oriented with proven organizational abilities.
  • Strong technical foundation and ability to learn and apply new technology/processes.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Experience with Dayforce a plus.
  • Understanding of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Prior experience working with benefit vendors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications. High proficiency in Excel a plus.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and good ethical judgment paired with the ability to keep sensitive information confidential.
