The Center for Human Resources at San Diego State University provides exceptional, customer‑focused human resources services that support the university’s mission and foster a positive, inclusive environment for all faculty and staff. We’re looking for a Recruiter to join our Talent Acquisition Team! This is a dynamic group dedicated to attracting and hiring outstanding staff and management professionals who advance SDSU’s academic mission.
As a Recruiter, you’ll play an essential role in every stage of the hiring process, from posting positions and sourcing talent to guiding candidates through interviews and onboarding. You’ll collaborate closely with hiring managers, HR partners, and your colleagues to ensure that each recruitment is timely, equitable, and successful. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail‑oriented, people‑focused professional who loves building relationships, solving problems, and making a real difference through their work.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Manage Full‑Cycle Recruitment:
Lead staff recruitments from posting through onboarding, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring managers. - Collaborate and Advise:
Partner with hiring managers and the Talent Acquisition Partner to plan and execute effective recruitment strategies. - Engage Top Talent:
Source and attract candidates through creative outreach, career fairs, social media, professional networks, and more. - Deliver Exceptional Service:
Communicate proactively with candidates and hiring managers, providing updates and ensuring a positive, professional experience at every step. - Support Process Improvement:
Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance workflows, data tracking, and overall recruitment efficiency.
Impactful Work: Play a direct role in bringing talented professionals to SDSU who help drive student success and academic excellence.

Position Information- This is a full‑time, at‑will role, offering comprehensive benefits.
- Position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
- This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego after the training period.

Education and Experience- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Two years of professional work experience in a related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse campus community.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling confidential and sensitive information.
