Position DescriptionThe University of California San Diego, Department of Surgery, is committed to academic excellence and seeks to recruit Project Scientist(s).
Selected Candidate Responsibilities- Designing, managing, and conducting experiments
- Leading projects and making significant contributions to research objectives
- Training, teaching, and mentoring students and colleagues in laboratory techniques
- Participating in and presenting at scientific meetings
- Preparing scientific reports, manuscripts, and grant proposals for submission and/or publication
Appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on the candidate's background and experience.

QualificationsBasic qualifications (required at time of application):
Candidates must hold a terminal doctoral degree in a health-related field, such as an MD (or equivalent), PhD, DVM, or a combined doctoral degree (e.g., MD/PhD).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Candidates with experience in mouse genetics, as well as hands-on experience with mouse models of autoimmune disorders, are preferred.
