Sr. Information Systems Security Officer/ISSO- 26-008 - San Diego, CA
As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Information Systems Security Officer/ISSO to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members in the Point Loma area of San Diego.
Responsibilities- Leverage expertise in administering US government security policies and procedures for multiple programs.
- Create Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages using RMF for computer networks using government standards, including ensuring systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures, as outlined in the security authorization package.
- Maintain responsibility for hardware and software control, computer security briefings, educating users within the security program and ensuring business needs are met.
- Work with systems administrators to ensure all systems security procedures are being followed in accordance with the applicable System Security Plan (SSP) and Security Control Traceability Matrix (SCTM).
- Ensure audit files are maintained and reviewed in accordance with client requirements, offer sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems and provide focused solutions.
- Manage system administrators as needed for software patch installation and antivirus updates.
- Conduct security self-reviews and Continuous Monitoring (CONMON) requirements.
- Lead CM efforts to coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software or firmware of a system to ensure compliance with configuration management policy.
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance upon hire.
- Must have a DoD 8140 IAM/IAT Level II cert upon hire.
- Bachelor of Science degree with focus in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field from an accredited college/university and 5+ years of applicable experience.
- eMASS or XACTA experience required.
- Experience developing RMF packages required.
- Experience using vulnerability testing/scanning tools (ACAS/Nessus/ITE or equivalent) and identifying vulnerabilities in security systems.
- Experience with Virtual Machine (VM) environments.
- Interim Authorization to Test (IATT)/Authorization to Operate (ATO) submission experience
- Experience conducting security assessments using DISA STIGs, SRGs and SCAP to audit and securely configure network-enabled devices, operating systems, web services, databases and VMWare.
- Experience developing mitigations and writing mitigation statements for ongoing vulnerabilities.
- Ability to author and maintain policy documents in support of RMF and vulnerability management.
- Knowledge of NISPOM, DCSA A&A Process Manual, JSIG, ICD 703, STIGs, RMF process and related NIST publications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to advise stakeholders and authorities on security requirements and cybersecurity trends and solutions, including risk assessments and mitigations.
- 100% onsite position.
No travel required.
Salary Range: $140-155K
Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in Level I-V.
An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.

AUSGAR's salary range is dependent upon a variety of factors, which include experience, skills, education, certifications and geographical location. Our salary range includes a base salary and excellent benefits package as part of our total compensation.
