San Diego, CA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite preferred) / Remote (PST)

Schedule: Standard Hours

Duration: 7-Month Contract (potential to extend)

Pay: $59-64/hr

Our client is a global leader in life sciences, advancing the understanding and management of human health through innovative sequencing technology.

They are seeking a Sr. Technical Project Manager to join their Consumables Manufacturing Technology and Transfer (MTT) group within Global Operations. This group is responsible for new product introduction and improving quality and yield in high-volume production environments. In this role, you will lead Scrum teams developing, debugging, and enhancing software-based solutions to manufacturing challenges. You will join a dynamic, fast-paced organization supporting new product development and sustaining operations, balancing multiple priorities while demonstrating leadership and agility through technical change.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and demos, and sprint retrospectives
  • Maintain and support Scrum team work in project management software (i.e., JIRA) with administrator-level access to update and maintain templates, provide and update team access, add and maintain release versions, components, and Scrum and Kanban boards
  • Guide the team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values for the benefit of customers
  • Work with a team of Scrum Masters to define and standardize Scrum best practices for the organization
  • Add and maintain software project status reporting within project tracking software (Planisware, Smartsheets, etc.)
  • Report to leadership on project status, timeline changes, risks, issues, and decisions
  • Work with development teams to identify areas of improvement
  • Identify and create action plans for development teams to improve their way of working within the Scrum framework
  • Provide training to Scrum team members on the Scrum framework
  • Support the Product Owner, especially on refining and maintaining the product backlog
  • Identify and resolve or escalate project issues, facilitate tradeoff decisions, and remove obstacles
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize efficiency of development teams and ensure optimal quality in the end product
  • Ensure product development efforts adhere to the product development process and design control standards
  • Define and optimize Scrum and development processes, methodologies, and tools to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master on Agile software integration projects
  • PMP certification preferred
  • 3+ years of experience with Jira, Confluence, and project status reporting
  • Experience with administrator-level access to Jira projects, including querying with JQL
  • Successful track record of bringing new software technology solutions/products to market
  • Experience with manufacturing workflow enabling software (LIMS/MES) preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills with a proven ability to build relationships and achieve consensus across a wide range of functions and stakeholders
  • Effective communication at all levels of the organization
  • Sound business knowledge of key drivers and considerations in manufacturing, biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, and/or life science industries
  • Self-starter with superior problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills and a track record of high performance and superior delivery
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative skills; detail-oriented with ability to see the big picture and work at both high and detailed level
