Location: San Diego, CA (100% Onsite)

Clearance Requirements: Must have an Active Secret Clearance

Position Status: Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: $40 - $45/hr.

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lead VTC (Video Teleconference) Technician to oversee and coordinate NMCI support services within a Navy/DoD enterprise environment. This role serves as the operational lead for IT Store services, Moves/Adds/Changes (MAC), mobile device support, and asset management (WinDAR), ensuring compliance with NMCI processes and Navy IT policies.

This is a high-visibility position working directly with government stakeholders to ensure mission continuity, operational excellence, and strict adherence to DoD cybersecurity and service management standards. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience in NMCI environments and a proactive approach to service delivery, compliance, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Serve as primary point of contact for NMCI operational support activities
  • Coordinate daily operations across IT Store, MAC, Mobile Device, and asset management functions
  • Ensure compliance with NMCI processes, SLAs, and Navy IT standards
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide operational reporting to leadership
  • Identify service risks and implement corrective actions
  • Provide workflow guidance and task coordination across functional teams
IT Store & Asset Management
  • Oversee NMCI IT Store operations including equipment issuance, returns, and lifecycle management
  • Ensure accurate processing of hardware and software requests within NMCI systems
  • Maintain property accountability and compliance with asset tracking procedures
  • Support hardware refresh and lifecycle initiatives
  • Manage and track assets using WinDAR and related systems
Moves / Adds / Changes (MAC)
  • Coordinate workstation relocations, reconfigurations, and new installations
  • Ensure proper NMCI request submission and tracking for MAC activities
  • Validate network connectivity, port activation, and workstation readiness
  • Minimize operational disruption during MAC execution
Mobile Device Support
  • Oversee provisioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management of government‑issued mobile devices
  • Support NMCI mobility services including device enrollment and configuration
  • Ensure compliance with Navy mobile security policies
  • Coordinate mobile device refresh and replacement cycles
Required Skills/Education
  • Active Secret clearance
  • IAT Level II Certification (one of the following required):
    Security+, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP
  • 5+ years of experience supporting NMCI environments
  • Hands‑on experience with IT Store operations, MAC processes, and enterprise asset management
  • Strong understanding of Navy IT policies, NMCI workflows, and DoD compliance standards
  • Experience in an operational lead or coordination capacity
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting both classified and unclassified Navy enclaves
  • Familiarity with WinDAR asset management systems
  • ITIL or IT Service Management (ITSM) experience
  • Strong customer service mindset in mission‑critical environments
