IT Software Developer – Top Secret Clearance Required; San Diego

Overview

Qualcomm's Government Technologies (QGOV) division develops special products based on its wireless terrestrial and satellite communication technologies for the military, federal, local, and foreign governments. As a Dev Sec Ops  Engineer, you’ll be part of a highly collaborative team focused on provisioning and maintaining infrastructure and services with stability, sustainability, and security always on your mind.

Opening is available in San Diego, CA, or Boulder, CO, full time 5 days a week. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active U.S. Government security clearance.

• Ideal candidate will have:
  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field and 1 yr of relevant experience, or no degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive Linux experience with servers and workstations; comfortable navigating CLI, knowledgeable with typical Linux troubleshooting tools, broad understanding of Ubuntu and Red Hat.
• Understanding of AWS and/or Azure service deployment and protection practices.
• Ability to automate through scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, Go, etc.
• Skill to provide sufficient automated test coverage of various implementations.
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Puppet, Splunk, JIRA, Vault, Docker, AWS, Azure, etc.
• Ability to respond rapidly to changing landscapes while providing stable, reliable, and secure services to customers.
• Passion for continuous learning and leverage the scientific method to ensure nothing is taken for granted.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in one or more of:
  Amazon Web Services administration (prefer Gov Cloud), Cloud Architecture, Security and Tooling, telemetry analysis, automating low‑risk releases, AI/ML tooling, configuration management, fast reliable automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, secured software development lifecycle for high‑availability services/architectures.

• 5+ years of IT‑relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or 7+ years without a Bachelor’s degree.
• 4+ years of work experience with full‑stack application development (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
• 3+ years of work experience with data structures, algorithms, and data stores.
