Knowledge in UNIX Operating systems like Red Hat Enterprise Linux / Ubuntu / SUSE and Solaris should be flexible and have cross‑platform working knowledge.
Hands‑on experience in configuring and deploying Hardware devices such as HP DL/BL Series Servers, Sun Hardware, Super Micro, and Dell – Enclosures/Blade hardware platforms.
This role requires full‑time onsite work in San Diego, CA (5 days per week).
This role is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.
Baseline Knowledge- Knowledge of UNIX Operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, SUSE, and Solaris with cross‑platform working knowledge.
- In‑depth familiarity and strong troubleshooting skills in Unix operation.
- Administration of physical and virtual infrastructure UNIX‑based hosts in complex heterogeneous environments.
- Fundamentals of Storage technologies, SAN, and RAID concepts.
- Datacenter Operations.
- Hands‑on experience configuring and deploying Hardware devices such as HP DL/BL Series Servers, Sun Hardware, Super Micro, and Dell – Enclosures/Blade hardware platforms.
- Knowledge of microservices such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Configuration tools such as Ansible are required.
- Investigation, diagnosis, and resolution of technical issues affecting service availability.
- Knowledge of server PXE installation, kickstart configurations, patching, and package management.
- Manage servers across locations, including Linux, Solaris, and VMware workloads in a critical production environment.
- Configure Veritas cluster and Pacemaker.
- Act as escalation point for engineers for technical and process related issues.
- Handle after‑hours escalations related to critical business activities.
- Partner with representatives across the company.
- Transfer knowledge and share service responsibilities with team members.
- 3+ years of IT‑related work experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Or 5+ years of IT‑related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.
