California Western School of Law is seeking a strategic, innovative, and detail-oriented Website Manager to oversee and enhance the institution’s digital presence. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role will manage website content, lead web-related projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure an engaging, high-performing online experience aligned with institutional strategies. As a key member of the Marketing Communications team, the Website Manager will collaborate across departments, optimize website functionality and visibility through analytics and SEO/GEO strategies, and serve as a vital liaison between campus stakeholders and external vendors.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of California Western’s online presence while upholding brand standards through effective, visually compelling web design. This is an in-person position based on campus.
- Web Management
- Oversee the daily management, maintenance, and performance of California Western’s websites, ensuring timely updates, functionality, accessibility, and compliance with brand standards.
- Monitor and resolve technical issues, broken links, and website challenges to maintain a seamless digital presence.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the website vendor, managing maintenance, updates, and issue resolution.
- Develop and deliver CMS training and best practices for web administrators across campus.
- Collaborate with the Director to establish website governance plans, workflows, permissions, and review processes.
- Create and maintain schedules for ongoing website audits, departmental updates, and process documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, including accessibility, copyright, and web hosting requirements.
- Web Development/Design
- Lead and support website enhancements, structural updates, and design improvements, including new page elements, landing pages, and redesign initiatives.
- Manage cross-functional web projects by coordinating timelines, deliverables, responsibilities, and communication among departments and external partners.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to design, prototype, and improve user interface and user experience across websites and microsites.
- Apply expertise in graphic design, typography, color theory, and layout to create visually compelling and effective digital experiences.
- Maintain and strengthen brand style guides, graphic standards, and visual consistency across all web platforms.
- Partner with marketing staff to develop and deploy graphics, photography, and video content that supports institutional goals.
- Maintain an organized library of digital assets, including photos, videos, and other visual materials.
- Online Strategy and Analytics
- Partner with the Director to develop, implement, and manage California Western’s overall web strategy.
- Identify and execute SEO/GEO initiatives to improve visibility, engagement, and search performance.
- Optimize website content, metadata, and digital structure for clarity, accessibility, and discoverability.
- Monitor industry trends, algorithm changes, and emerging tools to enhance website effectiveness.
- Track, analyze, and report website performance metrics using analytics platforms and related data sources.
- Provide data-driven insights and strategic recommendations to strengthen marketing efforts and improve user experience.
- Advise departments on web strategy, content planning, and best practices for their online presence.
- General
- Carry out responsibilities in a professional, positive, and collaborative manner.
- Maintain regular communication with the Director regarding project status, challenges, and progress.
