General Summary

We are seeking a Staff-level IT Network Engineer to join our Global Data Center Networking team, based in San Diego, CA (5 days per week). This is a senior, hands‑on role responsible for the design and evolution of large‑scale, enterprise data center networks supporting mission‑critical global services.

This role is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and operate enterprise and global data center network infrastructures.
  • Lead and support routing‑based data center architectures, including BGP and EVPN fabrics.
  • Provide technical leadership across routing, switching, high availability, and resiliency design.
  • Support application delivery and load balancing platforms, in large production environments.
  • Partner with application and platform teams to ensure reliable and scalable network connectivity.
  • Troubleshoot complex, cross‑domain network and application connectivity issues.
  • Contribute to network standards, best practices, and long‑term architecture direction.
  • Mentor engineers and serve as a technical escalation point within the team.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of networking with 4+ years of experience in data center networking.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with routing protocols, particularly BGP.
  • Experience designing or operating modern data center fabrics (EVPN/VXLAN or similar).
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 networking and TCP/IP.
  • Experience supporting high‑availability, business‑critical infrastructure.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics to diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise load balancing platforms.
  • Familiarity with L4–L7 traffic management, SSL offload, and health monitoring.
  • Exposure to network automation or scripting tools.
  • Experience operating in global, uptime‑sensitive environments.
  • Relevant networking certifications are a plus but not required.
