Supply Chain AI Enablement Lead

Position Summary

Supply Chain AI Enablement Lead will drive the adoption, scaling, and impact of AI and intelligent automation across Illumina’s Global Supply Chain. The role ensures teams understand AI capabilities, generate high‑quality demand, execute prioritized initiatives, and deliver the training and change‑management needed for sustained value realization of everyday AI.

• AI Demand Generation & Business Partnership – Partner with Plan, Source, Deliver and Regional Supply Chain leaders to identify high‑value AI opportunities, facilitate discovery sessions, conduct process reviews, and translate operational challenges into clear AI/use‑case concepts and ROI projections.
• AI & Automation Delivery Leadership – Partner with IT and business organizations to manage RPA, GenAI or Agentic AI solution sprints; ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, aligned with governance, secure, and meet technology readiness.
• AI Enablement, Adoption & Training – Design and deploy comprehensive training programs, develop enablement assets (playbooks, FAQs, demos, guidelines) and feedback loops to accelerate AI literacy and adoption within operations.
• Change Management & Value Realization – Drive change‑management plans, track adoption metrics, measure business impact, report value delivered, and support cultural transformation toward data‑driven, AI‑enabled operations.
• Strategic Contributions to Global Operations AI Vision – Contribute to the AI roadmap, align capabilities with long‑term goals, stay current on trends, and champion responsible, secure, value‑driven AI adoption across the enterprise.

• 8+ years in Global Operations, Supply Chain, Quality or similar environments.
• Strong stakeholder influence, cross‑functional transformation experience, and deep understanding of Plan‑Source‑Deliver processes and tools (SAP, Ariba, Icertis, etc.).
• Deep technical fluency – AI/Agentic AI, LLMs, workflow automation, predictive models, RPA, orchestration tools, or process mining.
• Experience leading agile teams and solution delivery life cycles across automation development or AI engineering platforms.
• Knowledge of industry AI governance, risk frameworks, MES, QMS, ERP and planning systems.

• Hands‑on experience deploying AI/automation solutions in complex operational environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise AI governance and risk frameworks.
• Lean, Six Sigma or operational excellence certification.

• Executive presence that inspires trust across technical and business teams.
• Ability to simplify complex AI concepts for broad audiences.
• Change‑leadership mindset focused on adoption and business outcomes.
• High learning agility and comfort navigating ambiguity.

• 10+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree.
• 8+ years with a Master’s degree.
• PhD with 6+ years of experience.
• Equivalent practical experience acceptable.

Base salary range $118,200 – $177,200 USD (adjustable by role level and location). All employees are eligible for variable cash programs and may receive equity. Benefits include genomics sequencing access, family planning, health/dental/vision, retirement plans, and paid time off.
