POSITION SUMMARY

Aleut is seeking a Modeling and Simulation Specialist to support the 533d Training Squadron’s USSF Guardian Enlisted Training (GET) initiative at Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA. Work is slated to start on 1 January 2027 (contingent on contract award). In 2023, the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) initiated an effort to refine the roles for Space Force officer, enlisted, and civilian Guardians to better prepare the USSF for dominating in the space‑domain.

The enlisted Guardians serve as technical specialists executing orders, providing expertise, and advising their officer and civilian counterparts across satellite operations, cyberspace operations, and intelligence operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Deliver Modeling and Simulation (M&S) support to the GET curriculum as required in Orbital Warfare, Space Electronic Warfare, Space Battle Management, Intelligence, and Cyber phases of instruction.
  • Develop realistic space‑domain scenarios and simulations for student activities, integrated exercises, and Graduation Exercise (GRADEX).
  • Create orbital and ground‑based training environments using government M&S tools.
  • Support exercise design, storytelling, and scenario development.
  • Coordinate activities with Contract PM and government supervisory personnel.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • This is a non‑instructor position.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Proficiency in C++ programming.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Active or current Top‑Secret Clearance and SCI eligibility required.
DESIRED SKILLS
  • Familiarity with US Space Force–related Tactical Data Processors and applications – GCCS, Agile Client, PDS‑M, TRS‑Dashboard, and GIANT.
  • Familiarity with AFSIM, Systems Toolkit (STK), BORG, and/or other Orbital Warfare M&S tools.
  • Instructional Systems Design (ISD) experience.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School degree required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing modeling and simulation tools and building training scenarios.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work on‑site, indoor office and classroom environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive keyboard tasks and associated motions for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to carry up to 25 pounds.
