Navy Weapons Technician – MK45
Location:
San Diego, CA. On‑site. Full Time.
Salary: $32‑$39 per hour.

As a Navy Weapons Technician – MK45, you will support the U.S. Navy in troubleshooting, repair and testing Navy weapons in support of the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC). You will support U.S. Navy ships and serve as a technical subject‑matter expert, interfacing with civilian engineers, program managers, logisticians and equipment manufacturers. Additional duties may include logistics, material and safety responsibilities related to the position.

- U.S. citizenship required.
- Active U.S. DoD Secret security clearance required (eligibility may be considered case‑by‑case).
Direct, oversee repair activities, train, troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain the following:
- MK45 MOD 2 or MOD 4
- MK38 MOD 2 or MOD 3
- MK110 Gun Mounts
- MK46
- Night Vision Devices
- Crew Served Weapons and Mounts
- Magazine Sprinkler Systems (Fairmont, Consilium, FDAS)
Provide technical support for procurement, installation, at‑sea testing, preventive/corrective maintenance, and lifecycle management of systems.
Interpret technical manuals, apply repair standards, and maintain accurate technical documentation.
Minimum Education RequiredHigh School Diploma or GED.
Additional Qualifications and Responsibilities- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of related experience with MK45 MOD 2 or MOD 4.
- Navy Gunner's Mate “A” School graduate.
- Navy 5″/54 MK45 MOD 2 “C” School or Navy 5″/54 MK45 MOD 4 “C” School graduate.
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining associated systems.
- Strong technical comprehension with ability to read and interpret technical manuals, system drawings, and procedural corrective and repair standards.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision; ability to provide technical findings orally and/or in writing.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related technical applications.
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and handling tools/equipment.
- Regular verbal and auditory communication.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lb.
- Ability to board ships and naval craft, navigating passageways and steep ladders.
- Comfortable working in shipboard and industrial environments.
