Overview
Under the supervision of the Associate Director for Education Technology & Strategic Initiatives and the direction of the Lead Digital Multimedia Technician, the Audio Visual Technician (Technician) provides technical support for educational technology and audio‑visual hardware and software. The role also assists in the creation and production of digital media projects. Additionally, the position may support the use of exam software and contribute to other tasks related to A/V, educational technology, or library services as needed.
Shifts are 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with flexibility for evening, weekend, campus events, exam times, and staff coverage.
- Operate and maintain audio‑visual, educational technology, and digital media equipment, software, and materials.
- Provide setup support in technologically enhanced classrooms and presentation locations.
- Schedule and assist with the usage of equipment to enhance meetings, lectures, and seminars.
- Provide production support for digital media creation projects of faculty and staff.
- Provide instruction on the use of media and computer technology as needed.
- Provide an efficient and well‑organized service through scheduling and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Work with a team to plan, engineer, organize and manage the research, purchase, and installation of necessary equipment to enhance faculty instruction and/or student learning.
- Work with a team to provide solutions to a wide range of technical, A/V, media creation, and educational technology problems.
- Assist with the organization of all audio‑visual, educational technology, and digital media equipment, schedules, reports, files, and inventories.
- Use and administer video content management software; including editing features and troubleshooting.
- Assist with the installation and troubleshooting of exam software.
College degree. 1–3 years’ experience level I or 3–4 years’ experience Level II supporting educational technology, audio/visual, and digital media creation preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
Computer Skills- Advanced experience with Office 365, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
- Advanced computer skills with PC software and hardware installation, operation and repair.
- Broad knowledge of PCs in a networked environment. Mac experience preferred.
- Ability to diagnose common system configuration problems.
- Knowledge of selected MS Windows network applications.
- Knowledge of Adobe digital media editing software preferred.
- Familiarity with Internet search engines and email properties.
- Basic cable management skills required.
- Familiarity with Examsoft’s Soft Test.
- Experience with use, administration and troubleshooting teleconferencing applications.
- Aptitude for learning new technology.
$21.00 per hour – $23.00 per hour. Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for this role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The higher end of the range will be considered for well‑qualified candidates. The hiring pay scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the law school reasonably expects to pay for this position.
The annual full pay range may be broader than what the law school anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity and budget.
