Temp Desktop Analyst Level 1

NSC Staffing is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Temp Desktop Analyst Level 1 to support IT Help Desk operations. This role provides first- and second-level technical support to end-users across a wide range of systems, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues while delivering exceptional customer service.

Position Overview

The Temp Desktop Analyst Level 1 serves as a key member of the IT Help Desk team, providing both in-person and remote support for hardware, software, connectivity, and user access issues. This role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple support requests, maintain accurate documentation, and assist in maintaining IT infrastructure and asset management systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for end-users experiencing issues with:
    • Personal computers and hardware
    • Mobile devices
    • Business applications
    • Authentication and connectivity
  • Deliver both on-site and remote technical support.
  • Process requests for software installation and permission changes.
Ticketing & Documentation
  • Receive, log, and manage incoming service requests via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
  • Monitor ticket queues and resolve issues based on priority and service levels.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and updates accurately within ticketing tools.
  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.
Asset & Inventory Management
  • Deploy, retrieve, and track IT equipment and assets assigned to end-users.
  • Maintain IT asset inventory, including license tracking and audit support.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all asset transactions.
Systems Support & Maintenance
  • Participate in testing and deployment of new systems or infrastructure changes.
  • Conduct daily system checks and assist in monitoring IT infrastructure.
  • Report system outages and performance issues following established procedures.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Interface with vendors and contractors for equipment repair and service.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining IT procedures and work instructions.
  • Contribute to system, process, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance or training to end-users and team members as needed.
  • Support special projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Associate's degree in Information Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant IT support experience required.
  • Strong understanding of desktop support, help desk operations, and troubleshooting processes.
  • ITIL certification highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent customer service mindset and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage responsibilities independently.
  • Proficiency in technical documentation and learning new systems quickly.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility as needed.
  • Frequent use of hands for typing, handling equipment, and operating computers.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to access all areas of the facility to provide technical support.
Work Environment
  • Office and industrial environments supporting shipyard or operational facilities.
  • Moderate noise levels and potential exposure to equipment and infrastructure systems.
  • Fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent support requests.
