The Data Science team's mission is to facilitate the analysis of the Health Data Warehouse, which contains medical data from several million patients. It develops scientific libraries and algorithms to transform raw data into information exploitable by researchers and clinicians. The team works closely with clinical services and numerous academic and industrial partners on various use cases.

Your missions

Within the Data Science team, your mission will be to develop, validate, and maintain algorithms and software libraries that facilitate the exploitation of data from the clinical information system for research and management purposes.

You will focus in particular on the automatic processing of language to transform textual data from the Health Data Warehouse into structured data directly exploitable. You will also be involved in the development and adaptation of language models (LLM) for concrete clinical use cases.

The developments you will carry out will be disseminated within the research community and you will be expected to contribute to scientific articles that value these academic works.

Main missions

• Consolidation of the "automatic language processing" requirement statement with research and management teams of the Health Data Warehouse
• Development, validation, and maintenance of scientific software libraries written in Python
• Development and deployment of machine learning and deep learning models for data preprocessing
• Involvement in the development of medical LLMs and their adaptation to clinical use cases
• Writing technical and user documentation
• Development of academic partnerships
• Contribution to the writing of scientific articles

Occasional missions

• User support and training in automatic language processing
• Internal advice and support for research projects
• Promotion of the tools and practices of the Data Science team to clinical teams
• Participation in Data Challenges and innovation initiatives

Profile sought

Education and experience

• Engineering degree or equivalent (Bac+5, Master
2) in data science

• Minimum 3 years of experience demonstrating mastery of Python and good practices in code review and continuous integration

Technical skills

You have expertise in several of these areas:

• Expertise in automatic language processing (NLP), use and training of language models (LLM)
• Expertise in statistics
• Expertise in database analysis (SQL)
• Expertise in the development of machine learning models (Huggingface, PyTorch, etc.)
• Expertise in distributed computing and data management
• Expertise in Python development
• Expertise in the deployment of statistical/machine learning models
• Proficiency in Linux and Git
• Fluent English (interactions with international partners)
