Release Train Engineer
This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of Insulet's Mobile Platform by driving alignment, execution, and transparency across a complex, multi-team Agile environment. As the central force behind the Agile Release Train, the RTE enables seamless coordination across teams and stakeholders, helping the organization deliver high-quality, compliant mobile solutions that directly support innovative diabetes care. By improving predictability, reducing delivery risk, and strengthening cross-functional collaboration, this role plays a key part in accelerating Insulet's ability to bring impactful, patient-focused technology to market.
Position overview:
We are seeking an experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to support our Mobile Platform Agile Release Train within a regulated medical device environment. The role will partner closely with Product Owners, Technical Leaders, Architects, Systems Engineering, and Program Management to drive planning, execution, and delivery across multiple Scrum teams.
The environment follows SAFe Agile practices with quarterly PI Planning, ART-level ceremonies, and cross-functional delivery teams. The RTE will serve as a delivery coordinator, helping teams align on priorities, manage dependencies, track execution, and deliver committed objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and facilitate PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs, Inspect & Adapt events, and other SAFe ceremonies.
- Coordinate planning and execution across multiple Agile teams supporting the Mobile Platform.
- Manage and track cross-team dependencies, integration activities, risks, issues, and impediments.
- Provide visibility into ART execution through metrics, milestone tracking, burn-up reporting, and delivery forecasting.
- Partner with Product Owners, Systems Engineering, Architects, and Engineering Leaders to support feature definition, refinement, readiness, and planning activities.
- Facilitate issue resolution and escalation paths across teams and stakeholders.
- Support Agile teams that may not have dedicated Scrum Master support.
- Coordinate with adjacent platform and product teams to align delivery plans and integration activities.
Desired Experience
- Experience serving as an RTE, Senior Scrum Master, Agile Program Manager, or similar Agile leadership role.
- Strong SAFe Agile experience, including PI Planning and ART execution.
- Experience supporting large Agile programs consisting of multiple Scrum teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage dependencies, integrations, risks, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience working with cloud-based and mobile software platforms and distributed engineering teams.
- Experience in regulated medical device environments
- Strong facilitation, communication, and organizational skills.
- 8+ years of experience in software development program/project management, Agile delivery, Scrum Master, RTE, TPM, or related roles.
- 3+ years serving as an RTE, Senior Scrum Master, Agile Program Manager, or equivalent role supporting multiple Agile teams.
- 3+ years working in SAFe or similar scaled Agile environments.
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience Master's Degree Preferred

Additional Context
The Mobile Platform ART consists of multiple Scrum teams supporting Mobile platform capabilities that enable connected medical device products. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a complex environment requiring coordination across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Systems Engineering, Verification, Quality, and Program Management functions.
NOTE:
This position is eligible for hybrid working arrangements and requires on-site work from an Insulet office.
