The Commerce, Account, & Partner Engineering (CAPE) Technical Operations team is dedicated to maintaining an always‑available platform while enabling seamless delivery of delightful experiences for Play Station players, partners, and operators. As a horizontal organization, we provide operations and tooling support for backend services across account management, authentication, commerce, and third‑party partner integrations on the Play Station Network.
As a key leader of the CAPE Accounts & Identity SRE and Notifications team, you will help drive the availability and enablement for accounts, authentication, and notifications platforms. You will partner closely with service development teams to deliver exciting, new product and platform capabilities, while continuously raising the bar of maturity for operational excellence for millions of players worldwide.
We are seeking an experienced TPM with a strong balance of technical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. You will drive large‑scale, cross‑functional programs that impact teams throughout SIE. This role requires navigating complex systems, managing dependencies, and delivering results in a fast‑paced, high‑availability environment.
ResponsibilitiesAs a TPM in CAPE Technical Operations, you will lead the delivery of development and operational initiatives across 100+ accounts, authentication, and notifications experiences and backend services in a cloud environment. You will ensure high availability, resiliency, scalability, and performance across the platform.
You will collaborate closely with development, platform, security, and global operations teams to operate a highly available accounts, authentication, and notifications ecosystem while enabling teams to efficiently deliver customer‑facing features.
Other responsibilities include.
- Lead SRE and technical initiatives in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment supporting horizontally across a large software development organization.
- Demonstrate people and soft skills to generate a positive atmosphere of excitement and collaboration towards delighting customers and pushing the limits of technology.
- Manage delivery schedules and timelines across multiple products and teams, ensuring timelines are met and communication is transparent at all levels.
- Collaborate and partner with other SRE teams that specialize in areas such as platform hosting, Kubernetes, CICD, and data services inspiring change and ensuring optimal application performance and resiliency across all back‑end services.
- Identify and solve complex problems, simplifying them into clear, actionable insights that drive informed decisions and behavioral change.
- Be an advocate for continuous process improvement and innovation.
- Leverage technical expertise to bridge the gap between engineering and business. Translating complex concepts for technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive leadership.
- Ensure to advocate and drive all tenets of SRE and software development including availability, resiliency, observability, capacity, elasticity, supportability and automation.
- Conduct, document and present root cause analysis documents to share incident insights and findings with our broader engineering organization.
