Job DescriptionHuntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and the defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems‑of‑Systems technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative, we advance multi‑domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control, providing services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics to modernize communications and ensure seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.
EssentialJob Responsibilities
- Support full spectrum, multi‑domain Cyberspace Operations (CO) capability development, including Offensive and Defensive Cyber Operations (OCO/DCO), Defense Industrial Base (DIB), and Department of Defense Industrial Network (DODIN).
- Monitor and analyze security systems, log data, network traffic, and alerts generated by various security technologies in real time, incorporating Zero Trust principles to validate access and identify security incidents.
- Escalate and explain validated security incidents to customers, ensuring alignment with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Cyber Security Framework (CSF) standards.
- Write detailed security incident reports documenting threats, characteristics, and remediation activities.
- Research emerging threats to ensure detection capabilities can identify and respond effectively, even within cloud environments.
- Review security incidents and other deliverables for compliance with established guidelines and RMF/CSF processes.
- Participate in incident response and forensic analysis as required.
- Document findings and provide feedback to enhance the performance of other analysts.
- Ensure adherence to service quality standards and articulate security issues to customers verbally and in writing.
- Refer complex issues to experienced staff when necessary.
- Expand knowledge of vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures, focusing on Zero Trust architectures and cloud ecosystems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and track customer issues and requests to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity Engineers and Cybersecurity Specialists.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; or high school diploma or equivalent and 4 years of relevant experience.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Capacity to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proven track record of contributing to successful team outcomes.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense acquisition and contracting processes.
- Working familiarity with federal compliance standards such as DFARS and ITAR.
- Certifications such as PMP, CISSP, or other relevant credentials.
May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment; capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
