Position Overview
Senior Cybersecurity Engineer – Hybrid position at AUSGAR Technologies in San Diego.
Responsibilities- Plan and execute system scans (ACAS/Tenable, DISA STIGs, SCAP) to identify vulnerabilities.
- Analyze scan results, develop reports, and recommend remediation to achieve desired security posture.
- Review system architecture for cybersecurity vulnerabilities and compliance issues.
- Work with system developers to remediate and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Develop system architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and Security Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms).
- Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, including development of Security Assessment Plans (SAPs), Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and A&A support.
- Serve as cybersecurity expert throughout acquisition, system engineering, and maintenance phases.
- Active Secret clearance required.
- DoD 8140.03 IAT II certification required.
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline and eight+ years in cybersecurity (or equivalent).
- Experience with vulnerability remediation (e.g., VRAM), ACAS and Nessus scans.
- Experience with DISA STIGs, SRGs, and SCAP.
- Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies and procedures.
- Experience implementing security lockdowns on Windows or RHEL, firewalls, routers, switches.
- Experience with eMASS and eMasster.
- Experience using Jira for work items.
- Strong written and verbal communication, self‑starter, independent worker.
Salary Range: $140K–$165K. Pay level is based on qualifications (Level I–V). Includes comprehensive benefits.
Hybrid work:
Approximately 60% onsite / 40% remote.
