Application Security Analyst (AI Training)

What if your security knowledge could train the next generation of AI systems to reason about risk the way a seasoned expert does?

Alignerr partners with the world’s leading AI research labs to build and evaluate cutting-edge AI models. We’re looking for application security professionals who understand how software truly breaks in production — and can translate that expertise into structured reasoning that teaches AI to assess, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities accurately.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You set your own hours and work at your own pace.

  • Organization:
    Alignerr
  • Type:
    Hourly Contract
  • Location:

    Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You’ll Do
  • Analyze realistic application security scenarios spanning code, APIs, and live system behavior.
  • Classify and assess vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, access control gaps, and business logic issues.
  • Evaluate the quality of secure coding practices and proposed remediation strategies.
  • Build and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that teach AI how to think like an expert analyst.
  • Distinguish real-world exploitability from theoretical risk with clear, structured written reasoning.
Who You Are
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience in application, product, or software security.
  • Solid working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and how vulnerabilities manifest in production systems.
  • Able to think critically about risk — separating genuine threats from noise.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain security reasoning clearly and systematically.
  • Self‑directed and comfortable working asynchronously on task‑based assignments.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with penetration testing, secure code review, or bug bounty programs.
  • Familiarity with API security, cloud‑native architectures, or Dev Sec Ops  practices.
  • Background in writing security documentation, threat models, or vulnerability reports.
Why Join Us
  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top research teams.
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where you want.
  • Freelance autonomy with the backing of a leading AI training organization.
  • Meaningful, intellectually engaging work that puts your security expertise to use in a new way.
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension.
