Role DescriptionThe Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and reliable network infrastructure to support mission-critical applications and services. Day-to-day tasks include configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices; monitoring network performance; troubleshooting connectivity and security issues; and documenting network configurations and changes. The role also involves collaborating with software engineers, system administrators, and security teams to ensure network availability, scalability, and compliance with organizational standards.
This is a full-time, on-site role located in the San Diego Metropolitan Area, requiring regular presence for hands-on support and coordination with project teams.
- Strong foundation in network design and implementation, including IP addressing, routing, switching, VLANs, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Experience configuring and supporting network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Knowledge of network security principles, including VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention, access control, and secure configuration practices.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools for performance analysis, fault isolation, and capacity planning.
- Ability to document network architectures, configuration standards, and troubleshooting procedures clearly and accurately.
- Solid problem‑solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to network incidents and outages.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross‑functional technical teams and stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+, or similar) are highly beneficial.
- Eligibility to work on‑site in the San Diego Metropolitan Area and support mission‑focused technology solutions.
