Site Reliability Engineer
San Diego CA
Onsite day 1
We seek technical experts to grow our team dedicated to expanding our IoT cloud platform service lines to our customers. We strive for talented engineers skilled in the art of integration who understand the Agile mindset and Dev Ops philosophies and are willing to decompose and reinvent systems, processes, and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Provide relief and sustainable resolution to issues within our infrastructure.
- Use your experience in software development, systems engineering, and networking to prevent repeatable issues proactively.
- Drive initiatives with partner teams to improve the reliability and performance of the infrastructure through improved system design.
- Drive a culture of intolerance to manual activity results in a highly automated environment delivering scalable solutions.
- Drive monitoring IoT cloud services by creating dashboards, standup new services/tools, and automation initiatives
- Troubleshooting problems with systems and services and deep dive into the root cause of a customer issue.
- Investigate why a metric is trending incorrectly, consult the development team, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational issues.
- Lead and schedule regular deployment of new versions of the systems and their subcomponents.
- Work collaboratively and independently to investigate and document issues and create solutions to solve them at scale.
Required
Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering discipline
- 5+ years of experience in multithreaded, distributed development in a Linux environment
- 5+ years of Development experience in Python, Go, Ruby, or related languages
- 5+ Years of experience with Dev Ops automation, CI/CD pipeline, and agile methodologies
- 5+ Years of experience with Cloud technologies, preferably AWS
- Expertise in Observability and Monitoring of applications, services, and networks at scale
- Advanced knowledge of configuration management systems, such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or associated systems.
- Experience with service-orientated architectures
- Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies (such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, Routing, VPN)
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to dive deep into complex technical problems.
Preferred:
- AWS Certified Sys Ops Associate / Dev Ops Professional
