About the RoleAWS is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to join the World Wide Public Sector Nonprofits practice. You'll serve as the technical lead for a portfolio of nonprofit research organizations, helping them design and implement cloud architectures that advance science at scale.
This role sits within a sales and business development team — your technical expertise will directly inform planning and strategy. You'll need both the consultative and leadership skills to launch projects on a trajectory to success, and the ability to help diverse groups understand application architectures and integration approaches.
Key Responsibilities- Own the technical engagement and success of customer implementation projects
- Design cloud architectures leveraging AWS services
- Provide thought leadership on security best practices for applications, servers, and networks
- Respond to RFPs and define implementation approaches
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services
- Lead whiteboard sessions, technical deep-dives, and presentations for audiences of all sizes
- Capture and share best practices across the SA community
- Collaborate with and learn from some of the brightest technical minds in enterprise architecture
- Mentor peers and customers while staying current on AWS innovations and industry trends
- Travel up to 30%
You will provide architectural and technical leadership to nonprofit customers leveraging AWS 'll guide design decisions with customer obsession, ensuring high availability and performance. You'll evangelize best practices, mentor others, and continuously grow your own expertise.
About the TeamWe are a dedicated team of Solutions Architects working with nonprofits to amplify their mission outcomes in the research space.
Basic Qualifications- 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or internet industries
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare and life sciences, encompassing one or more of the following areas: clinical research, biomedical research, genomics, bioinformatics, and computational biology
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud
- Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals
- 5+ years of solving problems with technology in the Healthcare/Life Sciences Industry
- A degree in genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a similar degree field is required
Base salary range (U.S.): $153,600 – $207,800 annually, varying by location.
