Position Summary
Join San Diego State University as a
Systems Administrator II and help support the enterprise technologies that power the SDSU Library. As the technical administrator for the library's Ex Libris Alma and Primo platforms, you'll configure and optimize cloud-based library systems, support integrations with campus applications, and partner with Library faculty, CSU colleagues, and vendors to deliver reliable, user-focused services that support teaching, learning, and research.

Key Responsibilities:
- Library Systems Administration
- Configure, maintain, and enhance Ex Libris Alma, Primo, and related library services.
- Implement configuration changes to support Library operations and evolving campus needs.
- Develop documentation, test new features, and provide guidance on library system functionality.
- Systems Integration & Support
- Support integrations between library systems and campus enterprise applications, including identity management and authentication services.
- Troubleshoot system, integration, and data synchronization issues to ensure reliable access to library resources.
- Coordinate with Library staff, campus IT teams, and CSU partners to resolve technical issues and implement new functionality.
- Partner with Ex Libris, vendors, and CSU colleagues to evaluate enhancements, coordinate testing, and improve system performance.
- Develop reports, analyze system data, and identify opportunities to improve workflows and business processes.
- Contribute to ongoing enhancements that strengthen library technologies and the user experience.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who enjoys administering enterprise applications, collaborating with users, and improving technology services.
Experience in one or more of the following is highly desirable:
- Library platforms such as Ex Libris Alma, Primo, Sierra, Koha, or similar integrated library systems
- Enterprise SaaS applications
- Systems integrations, APIs, or web services
- Identity management and authentication technologies (SSO, SAML, LDAP)
- SQL, reporting, or data analysis
- Higher education or library technology environments

Position Information
- Full-time, benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
- This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
- This position is eligible for telecommuting up to 2 days per week, following a training period during which on-site presence is required.
