Thispositionwillserveasakeycybersecurityadvisortoprogramleadership,engineers,Information System Security Managers (ISSMs),andstakeholdersthroughoutthesystemlifecycletoensuresystemsachieveandmaintainauthorizationwhilemeetingcybersecurityrequirements.

TheidealcandidatewillpossessextensiveexperiencewithRMFimplementation,cybersecurityengineering,vulnerabilityassessments,accreditation activities,andcompliancemanagementwithin

Department of

Defense(DoD) environments.

Thisrolerequirestheabilitytocoordinateacrossmultipletechnicalteams,manageauthorizationschedules,evaluatesystemarchitectures,andprovidecybersecurityexpertisethroughoutsystemdevelopment,testing,deployment,andsustainmentactivities.

Duties&Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF), Assessment & Authorization (A&A), cybersecurity compliance, and continuous monitoring activities throughout the system lifecycle for DoD programs and systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and assess cybersecurity policies, procedures, security documentation, authorization artifacts, and compliance records in accordance with NIST, DoD, NAVWAR, and CNSSI requirements, leveraging tools including eMASS, VRAM, DADMS, and DITPR-DON.
  • Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, security control evaluations, and remediation activities; support IAVM compliance, ACAS scanning, deficiency tracking, corrective action planning, and continuous authorization readiness.
  • Collaborate with program managers, ISSMs, engineers, development teams, test organizations, and government stakeholders to integrate cybersecurity requirements into system design, development, testing, configuration management, and operational planning activities.
  • Evaluate COTS, GOTS, open-source technologies, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), PPSM requirements, and engineering changes to determine cybersecurity impacts, authorization requirements, and compliance with RMF and security control standards.
  • Coordinate RMF schedules, security assessments, technical baseline reviews, modernization initiatives, and lifecycle cybersecurity activities while providing status reporting, risk mitigation recommendations, and accreditation support to leadership and program stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of cybersecurity, RMF, information assurance, or cybersecurity engineering experience supporting DoD or Federal programs.
