This role requires a highly skilled candidate who moves fast, thrives in ambiguity and change, and can break down and solve complex problems while partnering cross‑functionally across organizations and processes.

The Operations Intelligence and Watson team are a highly agile team that embraces innovation to scale business analytic products primarily for Operations (Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality) and R&D. In this role, you will partner with data engineers and stakeholders to provide actionable insights and key operating metrics across Dexcom.

The Business Intelligence Analyst II supports Manufacturing Operations by delivering accurate, timely, and standardized analytics that enable data‑driven decision‑making across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role focuses on applying foundational BI competencies to develop dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses using established tools, data models, and governance standards.

Working under the guidance of Senior and Staff BI analysts, this role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operations teams to translate business questions into clear reporting and insights while developing deeper technical and analytical skills aligned to the BI Analyst competency framework.

In addition, this role is expected to lead complex analytics and reporting efforts, oversee junior BI members, and support operational efficiencies and strategic planning through standardized, automated reporting and insights.

  • Modify and enhance existing dashboards based on well‑defined business requirements and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Validate reported metrics to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with manufacturing definitions and operational KPIs.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting of dashboard or data issues and elevate complex problems appropriately.
Data & SQL Development
  • Write basic to intermediate SQL queries (joins, filters, aggregations) to support reporting and analysis needs.
  • Compare query outputs to source system data to confirm correctness and completeness.
  • Contribute to documentation of data sources, data definitions, and reporting logic used in manufacturing analytics.
Analytics & Statistical Fundamentals
  • Apply descriptive statistics to summarize performance trends, variations, and operational patterns within Mesa manufacturing processes.
  • Create basic comparisons, trend analyses, and SPC‑style visualizations with guidance from senior team members.
  • Clearly articulate analytical findings and limitations to non‑technical stakeholders.
Manufacturing & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with manufacturing, process engineering, quality, and operations teams to understand reporting needs and operational context.
  • Support analytics initiatives tied to safety, quality, delivery, yield, and cost performance in Mesa operations.
  • Document requirements, assumptions, and data logic to enable repeatability and operational consistency.
Continuous Learning & BI Maturity
  • Build proficiency in BI tools, SQL, and cloud data platforms used within Manufacturing Operations.
  • Learn and apply BI governance, data quality standards, and performance best practices.
  • Incorporate feedback and coaching from senior analysts to improve technical quality and delivery effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, data analytics, or a related role.
