We’re hiring a Sr. Technical Data Product Manager at Petco! This role will help shape and deliver trusted, scalable data products that power analytics, personalization, operational insights, and AI-driven decision-making across Petco.

You’ll serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and our data, analytics, architecture, and governance teams turning business needs into reusable enterprise data products across domains such as customer, loyalty, sales, inventory, marketing, merchandising, services and finance.. You will help lead product strategy and roadmaps, take ownership of end-to-end delivery of data products, and guide data governance best practices across internal teams..

Responsibilities:

What you’ll do:

  • Own the vision, roadmap, backlog, and outcomes for enterprise data products.
  • Translate business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, data models, and technical requirements.
  • Partner with data engineers, architects, analysts, data scientists, and business teams.
  • Define data-quality standards, business rules, data contracts, metric definitions, and service-level expectations.
  • Define and analyze key insights to track the performance of our data products.
  • Drive adoption of governed data products and measure their business value.
  • Support modern data capabilities built on Google Cloud and Big Query.
  • Create processes for collecting feedback from users and prioritizing requests across business stakeholders.
  • Champion data governance standards in collaboration across internal teams.
Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science or another quantitative field 5+ years of product management experience, including delivery of entire products from start to finish.
  • Experience in technical product ownership, data product management, data engineering, analytics, or business intelligence.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing, modeling, ETL/ELT, APIs, data quality, lineage, and BI.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience managing Agile product backlogs and cross-functional delivery.
  • Problem solver with a product mindset:
    Ability to problem solve complex issues and constantly think about how to make processes more efficient.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders, with proven track record of taking end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering data products.
