Cybersecurity, Systems Engineer
SAIC is seeking an experienced Systems Network Engineer II/III to support critical and urgent program efforts focused on establishing production and development environments that enable fleet operations, global testing, and enterprise-to-platform data operations. This role supports network engineering, tactical data link integration, cybersecurity coordination, engineering change implementation, and shipboard event support across Navy operational environments. The candidate will work directly with cloud engineering, computer engineering, cybersecurity, platform integration, and fleet stakeholders to support rapid and agile delivery of resilient network capabilities.
The role requires a balanced mix of hands-on engineering, network architecture, cybersecurity coordination, technical documentation, and operational support.

JOB DUTIES:
- Support the design, implementation, upgrade, monitoring, and sustainment of resilient network architectures that enable production, development, testing, platform, enterprise, and fleet operational environments.
- Establish, integrate, and manage tactical data links and network connectivity with partnering platforms by coordinating with cloud, computer engineering, cybersecurity, and operational stakeholders.
- Prepare, implement, and support compliance with cybersecurity policies, Assessment and Authorization requirements, security controls, cyber defense measures, and cyber-resilient network practices.
- Assess cybersecurity vulnerabilities, risks, system functions, interconnections, and network dependencies by proposing remediation actions, mitigation strategies, and implementation guidance.
- Document line-by-line configuration changes, WAN-level design changes, network architecture updates, engineering decisions, risks, and implementation details in clear engineering-level documentation.
- Support shipboard and operational events by testing and implementing network changes aboard ship, providing during-event support, delivering over-the-shoulder training to ship’s force, and providing remote support as required.
- Coordinate engineering change and cybersecurity approval processes by tracking and preparing SRPs/ECRs, advising on PMW policy and process interactions, supporting IPTs, SETRs, PTRBs, CCBs, and coordinating with cyber teams for authorizations and approvals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience;
Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ;
PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. - Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance to start
- Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI after start
- Experience supporting network engineering, network architecture, resilient networks, tactical networks, cybersecurity, or related technical infrastructure roles.
- Experience supporting production, development, testing, shipboard, enterprise, platform, or operational network environments.
- Experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, documenting, or sustaining network systems, WAN-level architectures, tactical data links, routing, connectivity, or network interconnections.
- Understanding of cybersecurity policy, security controls, vulnerability management, risk assessment, cyber defense, and Assessment and Authorization support activities.
- Experience assessing cybersecurity risks across deployed systems, system functions, interconnections, network dependencies, or operational environments.
- Ability to coordinate with cloud engineering, computer engineering, cybersecurity, platform integration, program, government, and operational stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
